EcoServices Network Engagement Workshop Summary

On February 25, 2020, the EcoServices Network (ESN) hosted a one-day workshop in Nisku to engage and update conservation market stakeholders on activities and progress of the ESN.

The objectives of the workshop were to:

  • Share information and increase understanding of conservation markets; including information on user needs assessment, green financing opportunities and addressing property rights challenges.
  • Provide a learning opportunity for engaging Indigenous communities.
  • Support capacity building for individuals and organizations interested in the design and implementation of demonstration and pilot projects that will help advance conservation markets in Alberta.
  • Gather feedback and input on ESN projects.

Approximately 25 stakeholders attended and provided their feedback on various components of conservation markets. Here's what we heard:
